This tutorial will teach you to install Lightroom Mobile presets into the app, without using the desktop version at all. You will also be able to save them as presets and apply them with one click. But if you want to download Lightroom mobile presets straight to your phone and use them on the free app without going through the desktop version, you can do it directly on your phone.

If you haven’t yet, check out my custom Lightroom Mobile presets here.

Step 1: Download the ZIP file to your phone

My presets have come to you in a .zip file.  To open the zip file on your phone download an app like Unzip, that you can use to unzip the folder of presets

Option A

You can use apps like Unzip to unzip the file directly on your phone. Click to download the file and then tap on Open in Unzip:

Once you’ve unzipped the files on your phone, it’s time to import them into Lightroom Mobile!

Step 2: Import the preset files into the Lightroom app

The beauty about Unzip is that you can open up the DNG file (with built-in preset) right from your iPhone, so tap on the ‘Share Button in the top right corner and scroll right along the app option and select ‘Copy to Lightroom’ and tap that!

Lightroom Mobile will automatically open up and DNG image will be automatically added to your Library.

Step 3: Create and save your Presets

Now that your DNG image has loaded into Lightroom and is up on the screen, scroll along the menu at the bottom and select ‘Presets’, tap the white circle with the three black dots and first of all, tap on the ‘Preset Group’ dropdown and select ‘Create New Preset Group’  and name the Preset Group as ‘SMcGPh White & Airy Presets’ and then make the ‘Preset Name’ as the file name, so for example ‘SMcGPh Country White Fade Preset’ and tap the tick in the top right corner.

Once you’ve done that, the rest is easy, you can go ahead and save each preset. Now you’ve got the presets saved, they’re ready for you to edit at any time.
