Answer

Question What Are 3 Tips To Make My Architecture/interiors Shoot Run Smoothly?
Answer

For a fab shoot, where we can capture the essence of what it's like to be in the spaces you've created, there are a few tips for shoot day…

PLAN AHEAD

Light is everything, and light is always changing. If possible I’d always love to see a space before photographing it, whether in person or via iPhone snaps or FaceTime

Having a good idea of what time of day, the direction of the property and angles helps shoot day run super smoothly.

The best plan of action is to create a shot list whilst on the pre-shoot visit or FaceTime. A shot list can help visualise compositions before the actual shoot date.

A LITTLE PATIENCE

To most people Interior photoshoots might seem a little slow. But there is method to the methodical pace! Getting multiple exposures of a composition is important for lighting and editing later on. Shooting for highlights and shadows of each spaces ensures that even the small details that give character to your space are captured!

GO WITH THE FLOW!

You know that saying about 'best-laid plans'? Well sometimes, on the day of the shoot, there can be beautiful unexpected little vignettes and compositions within your compositions we hadn't planned on.

On the other hand, some of the things we had on our vision board, might not be the best fit on the day of the shoot. So, don’t be afraid to mix things up a little and play! Change angles or focus on different parts of your space

Part of a successful photoshoot is working together and trusting process 🙂

Question What happens if I’m running late for my shoot?
Answer

If you’re running late for your shoot we require you to let us know as soon as possible. If you are late for a shoot, your shoot time will remain the same as other shoot bookings need to be honoured and continue running on time out of courtesy other clients who have booked for that day.

If extending your booking time is required, or a supplementary shoot is needed, you can contact me to organise this at an additional expense.

Question How do I select my images?
Answer

Once you have finished your shoot - images are then edited in house, personally by me. After the editing process is complete I will send you an invitation link to your image gallery and you can select your favourites manually in on either you desktop or mobile. Once you've made your final selections a secure download link will be provided to download your final images!

Question Can I purchase more images if I love so many or all of them and can’t decide?
Answer

I get it! It's so exciting to see the images of your design or your business and trying to figure out which ones you like and need can be difficult!
If you’d like to purchase more images you can do so for $50 per image. This can be finalised during the selection process. Select your extras and I will invoice you for them. Alternatively you can contact me about an extra image bundle or email me if you have any questions!

Question How Many Locations Can I Shoot In For a 2-Hour Brand Shoot?
Answer

In order to get the very most out of your shoot I recommend that selecting a location that is flexible and versatile as possible or two if a change is really required. Please take into consideration that travel moving between locations comes out of your overall shoot time!

Question What happens if my shoot runs over my booked shoot time?
Answer

If your shoot happens to run beyond your allotted time, overtime will be billed at 15 minute increments based on hourly rates and will be charged in a separate invoice after completion of your photoshoot.

Question Can I just let suppliers just credit you as the photographer if they use the photos on their social media accounts?
Answer

No, despite social media being photo and video dependent and "less formal", you must request permission from the original photographer, not the person or company who posts it.

As my client and having paid for the work you are licensed to utilise the photos across your website and social media, providing credit as per the following 'Photo Credit to @stephmcglenchy.

If you would like any more information about here is the link to architectural photography copyright on the Australian Institute of Architects website.

Image Makers Association also has some great information also pertaining to commissioning photography and licensing for publishing in editorials.

Question How can the builder, interior designer or other vendors and suppliers be involved in the project and/or get access to the photos?
Answer

Your contract does not include the right to share the images with ANY third parties. However, they can purchase a license or, better yet, they can participate in the photo shoot with a split fee or cost-sharing arrangement.

If you are aware that third parties will be interested in purchasing the photos before the session, I offer a split fee arrangement to reduce the financial investment for each party. It’s important to ask about this option in your initial conversations with me, as the discount is only available when all parties agree to purchase before the photoshoot takes place.

Question Is there are time frame after my shoot that I can purchase more images?
Answer

Yes, there is! All images are kept on file and stored for 12 months after your shoots are completed. Images are always able to be purchased at an additional fee (see previous FAQ above) and must be purchased in this 12 month period. After this, all completed work will be disposed of after the end of the 12 month period.
